(Habakkuk 3:16-19)
When the figs do not grow on the fig trees,
When the grapes do not grow on the vines,
When the olives do not grow on the olive trees,
When food does not grow in the fields,
When there is not any sheep in the pens,
When there is no cattle in the barns,
I pray, oh Lord, that I can still delight and triumph in the Lord,
When full, I should also enjoy God in all.
When emptied and poor, I pray that I can enjoy all in God.
Now, what if I gain the whole world and lose my own soul?
I should still be glad in the Lord and rejoice in God my savior.
But how?
God gave up His heavenly riches for me.
God gave up everything so that I could be richly blessed.
The Lord God gives me my strength,
For when I am weak, then am I strong
He helps me run fast like a deer,
For the Lord is my defence.
He leads me safely on the mountains,
For my God is the rock of my refuge.
