Christ: The Theme of the Bible
Professor Geisler comments on the following scriptures that “Jesus is Jehovah and someday everyone will confess it,
“That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord” (Philippians 2:10-11).
“Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear” (Isaiah 45:22-23).

Spiritual Husband of Israel
New Testament: Jesus is pictured as the husband of spiritual Israel, the church (Revelation 19:7-8; Ephesians 5:21-32).
Prepare the Way of the Lord
“He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias” (John 1:23).
“The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God” (Isaiah 40:3).
“Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple” (Malachi 3:1). This is Yahweh speaking. The messenger, John the Baptist came, and the Messiah followed – in the person of Jesus.
